Terms of Use

Last updated: 2 November 2026

By installing or using Filmie, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

What Filmie is

Filmie is free, open-source desktop software. It shows movie and TV information from TMDB, connects to your Trakt account, and can open video pages from servers that you add yourself.

Filmie doesn't host, store, supply or recommend any video. It includes no video servers.

Your responsibilities

You alone are responsible for the servers you add and for what you do with them. The developer doesn't control or review those servers.

Third-party services

Filmie relies on services the developer doesn't run. They may change, limit or end access at any time, which can stop features from working. Your use of them is covered by their own terms and privacy policies.

Filmie uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. Filmie uses Trakt but is not endorsed or certified by Trakt. Streaming availability data is provided by JustWatch.

Software license

The source code is released under the MIT License. Bundled third-party components keep their own licenses, listed in the third-party notices.

No warranty and limit of liability

Filmie is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of Filmie or of any third-party service or server. This includes lost data and changes to your Trakt account.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The current version is always on this page, and continuing to use Filmie means you accept it.
